Our New Starting Blocks Are In and creating a lot of praise for our facility.  Thanks to many Friends of Worthington aquatics, 5 of the 6 blocks were completely funded by charitable donations.  We are still hoping for donations to give block #1 its own identity (notice blank box below the Worthington Pools logo).

These blocks have a base custom designed for us by Paul Reeder, are made of powder coated steel and are the only 6 in existance.  The tops are the latest, state of the art, platform used in National and World competition, and for the 2012 Olympics.  We are the only facility in Central Ohio to own a set and one of two in Ohio.  It incorporates a fin on the back to facilitate the track start commonaly used by the swimmers.

YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO MEMORIALIZE YOUR TEAM OR CLASSMATES
Sponsor the last Starting Block in the Worthington
Natatorium.  Contact a group of your friends and get them to pledge for the purchase of a starting block.  $3000 is needed to have your or your group recognized on Block #1.  Decide how you want your group recognized on your block; class year, nickname (Waterless Wonders), state champion team or relay names, or memorialize a teammate who has passed on, it is up to you.

Championship Hall Now Open,
But More to do to Prepare for the Future
and Reflect Our Heritage

Swiminc is excited to honor Coach Jim Callahan’s 25 years of dedication and the excellence of Worthington’s aquatic programs.  The Worthington Pools now has the needed additional room for dry land training, athlete education and expanded space during aquatic events.  The way we are now capable of training our athletes has completly changed.  The Worthington Natatorium is setting the standard for smooth running and entertaining meets.
The new large screen, dot matrix scoreboard donated by Thompson-Cunningham Insurance Agency in Worthington and Motorists Insurance Companies, has been the crown jewel of our renovation, with the ability to include athletes names, pictures and video.  All are impressed with the new information and entertainment provided.
