Whether you are looking for a part time summer job or a long term career choice, lifeguarding is a unique and rewarding experience for teenagers and adults of all ages.

COURSE FEE: $230
Includes necessary supplies; you will need access to the internet when studying from home.
Students must attend all class sessions and participate in all water and land activities.

 Challenges: a shorter way to update your certification
Lifeguards should be able to complete all the required skills and pass the written tests without any review or help from the instructor. 
Lifeguard and CPR/AED Challenge: More Information at a later date

Passing Students Will Receive:
3 Year Certification In Lifeguarding and First Aid
 2 Year Certification In CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer 

 Lifeguard Candidates’ Must Meet All 4 Prerequisite Requirements:
-Must be 15 years old on or before the last day of class
-Swim 300 continuously using front stroke and breaststroke
-Tread water with no hands for 2 minutes
- Swim 20 yards, surface dive 7 - 10 ft, retrieve a 10lb object then return to the starting point and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute 40 seconds

Students who take a lifeguarding course or challenge here at the Worthington pools this spring, and then works 100 hours or more at the Worthington Pools this summer, will be reimburesed the instructor fee of $150 (less for "Challenges").
